I hated building station complexes in X3, even with mod help. No flight modes, no station scanning, combat was a little less rewarding imho since you wouldnt get money. Disadvantages: small universe. Thanks for the insight. X4 video on the X4: Foundations forum board. Faction war was basically non-existent (at least in TC). Fly every ship, TRADE and FIGHT to BUILD your empire with modular station construction and THINK carefully when embarking on an epic journey. There were definitely faction conflicts in TC. I tried searching via google, but only found a rudimentary missiles for X, torpedoes for Y guide by SquidOfLove. Mega space economy simulator X4: Foundations has released its first major expansion, bringing the alien Split faction back into the series, along with a heap of ships and new areas to explore.. Dealer Locator. Wasn't much of a threat though. Edit: had that backwards, heatseeker hits harder than guided, albeit slightly. My only guess so far would be that torpedoes are slower, but stronger, therefore good against big and slow ships. Dumbfire is just that, goes in a straight line and hits anything that happens to be in that line for more damage than it's guided counterparts. But any actual fine detail is lost in sheer gawking wonder at just how big and amazing everything is. People like to say that missiles are overpowered, but in my experience they are very very weak. The 4.00 update is, without a doubt, the biggest free update so far to our space simulation X4: Foundations. (I will update this post to reflect the key takeaways in the comments). I find station building in X4 is a lot more micromanagmeent heavy. Improved visuals, space looks more vast and dark, as it supposed to. Cargo is in your ship, while inventory is on you. Sorry if that comes off as a relatively stupid question. Developers Egosoft have also updated the base game, promising a litany of fixes and improvements, and additions including new ships, weapons, and a fresh storyline, whether you buy the expansion or not. I just feel confused because a lot of people said that missiles are powerful, some annihilate everything with torpedoes from 13km away and such stories. They were just huge ugly looking things. Are light missiles better against small targets than heavy ones? https://www.egosoft.com:8444/confluence/display/X4WIKI/X4%3A+Foundations+Manual Getting enough materials early on is a pain since some are quiete rare at the beginning. I didn't want to record the entire battle, as the Xenon I can take a massive pounding. None of the above should be taken to mean that missiles etc do or do not work (or work as intended, or are balanced) yet in X4. In X3 you bought a factory ( with enough reputation) and plugged it into your existing factory complex. I know how to task another ship to launch their marine and I see the … Heatseeker hit a bit harder than guided or smart. I also haven't been able to make much sense of them either and would enjoy some educating. Combat paid well with a police license in a race’s sector, same as in X4. So a bunch of novas with torpedo launchers is enough to deal with some XLs? Explore, Trade, Fight, Build, and most importantly, Think carefully about your journey!
